Through the embodiment of my soul

Intro

There is a feeling of disruption inside my being; a feeling of plunge in a vortexed world which goes with plenty of anxieties and distresses. It seems that we do not know anymore what is really important to us and all this anguish which was created is caused by a lack of dedication to seek our neuma, in our inner strength. We are losing our direction and we are somehow lost. As we throw oneself into a world of sophistication we are going away from simplicity, we become separated from our whole being which has more than a materialistic reality and we take part of a collective hysteria.

This artwork is an attempt to scrutinize something that could be called soul and the importance of it in our meaningful existence. In this installation I question the ways by which we express ourselves through the matter and the creation of objects as a reflection of our not just prime necessities but also the most transcendental ones. Objects in which we can relate the soul within.

I am endeavouring to validate forms in their archetypical essence as they were a kind of language that we can understand from our psyche. Simple forms. Forms from a kind of spiritual history that stay in a collective unconscious and once I tried to bring them outside they lie in the simple clay as a sort of objects with devotic meaning.

The use of clay as a principal medium gives me the significance of one of the most primitive human expressions and one of the first hints of civilisation and art. Clay as part of our deepest endurance in our boundness with earth and the search for a meaning to our own essence.
